Bone augmentation
There are several techniques which have been developed for bone augmentation: A - bone harvesting from one part of the body and transferring it to the required area, B – implanting sterilised bone derived from animals and cadavers, or completely synthetic substances.
Dr. Dr. Gonschior believes that the mix of synthetic bone and bone harvested from the patient, gives superior results without the risk of cross infection from donor material. He also advises, that membrane placement can stabilise the bone graft during the healing phase.
