Botulinumtoxin (Botox)
Botulinumtoxin Type A is a localised acting muscle relaxing agent. Once injected under the skin, it attaches to the nerve endings which are responsible to make a muscle move, and stops them to pass on the signal to activate the muscle. The muscle stays relaxed, and this helps to reduce dynamic folds at your frown, or your crows feet, thus making you look less angry/tense/wrinkly.
The visible effect of Botulinumtoxin lasts 4-9 months on average, because of the recovery of the nerve endings.
